!!!!!! Ordination minus 1 week + 6 days !!!!!!
In but 13 days, Deacon Seth Phipps, FSSP will be ordained at St Mary’s, on Saturday 9th June 2018 at 11am, by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon. Thank you for your fantastic support last year. You set a wonderful precedent. Let us build up on our past experience and make this year’s ordination another success, please God. Please pray for Deacon Phipps and our other seminarians.
Did you know? Every weekday, you can join in recitation of the Holy Rosary at St Mary’s, from 11.30am to 11.55am. We thank those who provide regularity for this essential Marian devotion. Please come 30mins before Mass this week and pray the Rosary for so many intentions!
Irish Referendum: 66.4% of Irish voters chose infanticide.
We did not.
Here at St Mary’s, there was a total of 8 hours of Eucharistic Adoration Thursday night in advance of the Irish referendum on whether or not repeal Ireland’s 8th Amendment currently preventing abortion on demand. Many gathered for the Masses that preceded and ended the Adoration at 9pm. We were struck by the numbers who adored Our Lord till midnight and the fact that there was a constant 13 people adoring for the entire 8 hours.
This is a war against principalities of evil that despise God’s creation. We need to adore Our Lord, fast, have Masses said and pray daily the Holy Rosary as Our Lady of Fatima asked us to if we are to counter this culture or death which is trying to destroy the world and those therein. No prayer, no sacrifice will have been offered in vain. Reckoning will take place on Judgment Day. May Our Lady obtain God’s mercy for us and the Western world.
Thank God for 10 new priests ordained at our US seminary in Nebraska yesterday Saturday 26 May, by Archbishop Sample of Portland. Please pray for many more!
Please pray for those to receive their 1st Holy Communion at next Sunday’s Mass.
Corpus Christi Procession Sunday 3rd June 3pm-4pm: For the third year running, Fr Dave Heywood P.P. and St Mary’s clergy would like to invite the parishioners of the new Parish of Blessed James Bell (as well as anyone interested) to come together for a Corpus Christi Procession next Sunday 3 June at 3.00 pm. The procession will begin at 3.00 pm in St Mary’s Shrine, Buttermarket Street. It will then make its way through the town centre to St Alban’s, Bewsey Street, for Benediction at approximately 3.45 pm. We extend a special invitation to the children who have just celebrated First Communion to wear their special clothes and lead the procession.
Please bring flower petals in baskets, to throw before the Blessed Sacrament.
Confirmations by Archbishop McMahon O.P. on Wednesday 20th June, 7:00pm followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament ending by 8pm. Refreshments.
Like last year, candidates from further away are very welcome to come and be confirmed with our local group: please contact Fr Loewenstein, FSSP: padrek@libero.it
