Homily by Fr Armand de Malleray, FSSP. The Nativity of St John the Baptist is closely connected with the Visitation of his mother St Elizabeth by Our Lady three months earlier. Our Lady assisted her cousin until birth. Our Lady attended the Nativity of her Son’s Precursor, after she channelled to him her Son’s blessing while both children were still unborn. In this double episode, the Holy Gospels affirm the sanctity of human life from conception. It is most fitting to reflect on pro-life issues on such a great feast.
