Ordination of Fr Phipps, FSSP Our gratitude goes first to His Grace Archbishop McMahon who, like last year, is coming to St Mary’s thrice within the same month for liturgy practice, ordination and confirmation.
Many thanks to the family and friends of our new priest Fr Seth Phipps, for their affection and support to him along his years of formation. Many more of our priests and seminarians wished to attend, but were prevented from doing so by our forthcoming General Chapter in America.
Thank you to all our parishioners who helped in so many ways to make yesterday’s ordination and today’s First Mass so special: liturgy; church cleaning; refreshments and Sunday picnic; pictures; LiveMass installation and filming; flower arranging; Health & Safety planning; booklets; preparing the garden; car park attendants.
Thank you also to those who provided accommodation to our visiting clergy and drove them from the airport and to the church. Special thanks to Fr Ian Verrier, Kathy Jones and our singers who have managed superbly despite our Music Director M. Wynne being on sick leave.
Thank you to all you who travelled from some distance to express your support and give thanks to God for the grace of yet one new priest. We are also grateful for the prayer of all of you watching this momentous event on our online channel LiveMass.
Last but not least, thank you to our seminarians who worked very hard to prepares the ceremonies, in particular Matthew, the main master of ceremonies (a Warrington Catholic, baptised in our parish at St Oswald’s)
Fr Phipps will give First blessings after the Sunday Masses.
Please join us for our community picnic in the Priory garden after the First Mass of Fr Phipps.
