FSSP Clergy Gathering 21-23 Nov in Warrington:
The 10 FSSP priests from England, Scotland and Ireland gathered at St Mary’s Shrine last week for about three days of fraternal talks and prayer. A huge thank you to the ladies who generously cooked splendid meals for us.
Vocation Weekend: great success!
STANDING ROOM ONLY at the annual Vocation Discernment Weekend in Warrington last 25-27 Nov. 18 young men turned up (out of 20 booked), assisted by 4 priests and generous parishioners who cooked all the meals at Priory Court. Thanks to booklets especially printed for them, our guests were able to take part in sung Compline, Lauds and Vespers; as well as Low and Solemn High Masses and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
They attended 5 talks by the Shrine Rector on vocation in general, and life in the world vs life consecrated, Holy Mass and the priesthood.
Conviviality was an important aspect of the weekend, as well as silent prayer at the Shrine. All went for a walk with the priests on Saturday afternoon praying the Holy Rosary in the nearby Victoria Park, to the amazement of dog-walkers who had never seen 20 young men and clerics devoutly praying in public in the neighbourhood.
Shrine parishioners had been requested to pray for the visitors before and during the weekend, and were delighted to see so many young adults in the pews at Holy Mass.
Our heartfelt thanks to the ladies who prepared the many meals for the clergy and the laymen, and to the servers who made our private Masses and Solemn Vespers more prayerful. Please pray for these generous young men, that they might discern further with certainty the Holy Will of God on their precious souls.
Pray for more priests here: https://fssp.org.uk/about-the-confraternity/. O Lord, grant us many holy priests!

Novena to Our Lady for Priory Court Project: Litany of Loreto after every public Mass from 30 Nov to 8 Dec inclusive. Please join in from home if you cannot attend. Start from now for 9 days if you read this after 30th Nov. Thank you.
Priory Court: Planning Permission was granted at last after a very long administrative delay. Sadly over the past two years, construction costs have risen so much as to make it difficult for us even to begin Phase One of the Conversion work, i.e. the Middle Floor Parish Hall all across the building, with lift. Please pray that our trustees might make the right decision shortly about this project which, by God’s grace, would equip us with much-needed space for our ministry.
Please pray for miracle benefactions!
SAVE MONEY easily: please keep all doors shut at St Mary’s Church and at Priory Court. With energy costs soaring, we as a community must make an effort not to waste heating in church and hall.
Please shut behind you the doors from Nave to Porch, Narthex, Lavatory, Cloister, Sacristy and of course, the doors from Porch and Cloister to outside.
Please do the same in Priory Court: the BLUE Front doors must be kept shut at all times when heating is on. Together, let us save money for better use.
Advent Donations: The overall Shrine income is diminishing. This is not surprising since our parishioners are affected by the economic difficulties. However, if you are in a position to contribute personally or to alert benefactors on our needs, even though they don’t live in Warrington, please share our bank account details below with them this Advent.
Should any parishioner be in serious financial difficulty, let them contact the Shrine clergy confidentially.
As usual, the Christmas collections in the FSSP are not retained by the clergy for personal use but applied to the ongoing expenses of the Shrine (which include Clergy expenses such as food, housing, private and transport allowance, retirement fund, health).
Thank you for helping us through the Offertory collection and standing orders. Support St Mary’s Shrine: send your donation via our Donate page: https://fssp.co.uk/donate/. Ask us for a Gift Aid form to increase your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid envelopes can be obtained from our Secretariat. Standing orders are easier and quicker for us to process than cash: Lloyds Bank ; Sort Code: 30-80-27 ; Account number: 30993368. Account name: FSSP Warrington
