CONFESSIONS TIMES
Our Lady of Ransom (for anyone): Sat 10:00am-11:15am, and 20mins before every weekday Mass. At All Saints: during Sunday Mass in the room behind the organ. Chesham Bois: after the Sunday 12noon Mass if not before.
Thank you to all who helped make our Easter Triduum prayerful and beautiful: singers, organist & trumpetist, altar servers, cleaners, flower arrangers, fire lighters, safeguarding officers, refreshments preparers, and visiting clergy.
Over 200 adults and children took part in the FSSP Bedford Solemn Easter Triduum 2025. People travelled from far and wide, some from Oxfordshire, Greater London, and Lincolnshire.
It was possibly the only place across the UK where permission had been given for those beautiful and complex ceremonies to take place in a pre-Reformation church, built a mere 33 years after the Norman Conquest, in 1099 (on the site of an older Catholic church.) What joy to hear these hallowed walls echo the traditional Roman liturgy after about five centuries. We thank all those who helped in so many ways to make this Triduum 2025 such a rewarding time of prayer.
These liturgies took place under the auspices of the FSSP Gregorian Chaplaincy, established by the Bishop of Northampton in 2011 so serve the needs of those attached to the traditional liturgy.

Death of His Holiness Pope Francis
Let us pray for the repose of his soul. He often asked to be remembered in the prayers of those who met him. We are indebted to him for his decree of February 11, 2022, clearly reaffirming the practice and charism that the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter has had from its foundation.

We will offer a Requiem Mass on Tuesday 6th May to “pray to God that through the Sacrifice offered for the soul of his servant, he may be admitted into the celestial kingdom in the company of all the saints.”
All are invited to recite daily the following prayer for the choice of the new pope:
O Lord, with suppliant humility, we entreat you,
that in your boundless mercy,
you would grant the most holy Roman Church a pontiff, who,
by his zeal for us, may be pleasing to you,
and by his good government may ever be honoured by your people
for the glory of your name. Through our Lord…
We will offer another Mass to pray for the election of the new pope on Thursday 8th May.
Congratulations to Pedro and Alina Ivorra Perez on the Holy Baptism of their firstborn son Santiago on Friday 25 April; and Mr Andy and Dr Silvia Grant on the Holy Baptism of their fourth child Beatrix scheduled in Kempston on Sat 3rd May, 12:30pm.
Greenlight to fundraise for a place of worship. We will keep you informed.
Annual Chaplaincy pilgrimage to Walsingham on Sat 12th July. Save the date and register interest with Rita. We will give thanks for 14 years (minus a week) since the establishment of the Gregorian Chaplaincy (19 July 2011) by Bishop Doyle.
Please pray for Tremaine Newman-Brown and Lottie Harvey-Craig who will be united in holy Matrimony at All Saints, Kempston, on 31st May.
All Saints: kindly remember to put all the hassocks, chairs and pews away safely after holy Mass.
Improving safety together at All Saints: although there will be volunteers on the field to monitor the riverbank, parents still have responsibility for looking after their children.
What is required:
- Volunteers to be DBS checked
- Volunteers to undergo one hour safeguarding training online
- Volunteers to sign a code of conduct
- Volunteers to wear a high visibility vest in order to identify their role and be a point of reference
