Adoration on the 27th!

Great news!  Father O’Donohue will be coming to Christ the King on Saturday 27th June to offer Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 2 pm – 6 pm. This is our first opportunity for adoration since the middle of March and we hope that many people will take the opportunity of spending time with Our Lord. Naturally we need to observe all the necessary conditions regarding hygiene and social distancing.  If anyone can volunteer to be a steward for part […]

Prayer to our Guardian Angel when we cannot go to Mass

Dear Guardian Angel, go for me to the church, there kneel down at Mass for me.  At the Offertory, take me to God, and offer Him my service; what I am, what I have, offer as my gift. At the Consecration, with your seraphic strength, adore my Saviour truly present, praying for those who have loved me, and for those who have offended me, and for those now deceased, that the Blood of Jesus may purify them all.  During Holy […]

Only six days away – Gearing up for Lent!

There are a busy few days ahead for the Bedford Latin Mass community! Firstly on Sunday 23 February after Mass we have our monthly Catechism session, where last time the adults learnt about why the Church ordains only men to the Sacred Priesthood. It is good to have these sort of questions clear in our minds so that we can answer any questions from family, friends and colleagues, and these sessions are an excellent way to learn how to do […]

A Holy Day – but not of Obligation!

Monday 6th January is the Feast of the Epiphany.  This is a Holyday of Obligation in the Universal Church, but this year the Bishops of England and Wales have transferred the celebration of Epiphany back to Sunday 5th January.  Following the Traditional calendar, however, the Mass for this Sunday will be that of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. To mark Epiphany, there will be a Low Mass at Christ the King on Monday 6th January at 7.30 pm.  Although […]
