Fr Armand de Malleray, FSSP will lead the weekend. There will be talks, prayers, Holy Mass and informal chatting with fellow-guests. Possibility of private meetings with a priest, and of confession. Feel welcome confidentially to call, email or write for any questions. Holy Mass each of the three days.
COST: £95.00 per person in total (bed + full board). FREE for unwaged and students – give whatever amount you can.

ACCESS: Direct train from London St Pancras to St Neots, every half hour, duration 56 minutes.
The nearest towns are Huntingdon (5 miles NNE of Buckden) and St Neots (5 miles South of Buckden). Both Huntingdon and St Neots are served by the West Anglian Great Northern Railway line from King’s Cross London to Peterborough. Let us know if you would need a lift from the railway station. There also are bus and coach links to both Huntingdon and St Neots from many parts of the country.

VOCATION NEWS: 15 new FSSP PRIESTS in 23 YEARS
We have currently six young men from the UK & Ireland in formation at our two international seminaries. Three of our deacons from England were ordained priests at St Mary’s Warrington by Archbishop McMahon, OP of Liverpool. Those were the first EF priestly ordinations by a diocesan bishop in England in fifty years. Please pray for them (www.fssp.org/en/help-us/confraternity-of-saint-peter/) and for many more to enter the lists!
We give thanks for 13 priests ordained from or to the UK over the past 23 years: Fr Armand de Malleray in 2001; Fr Konrad Loewenstein in 2002; Fr Brendan Gerard in 2006; Frs Matthew Goddard and William Barker in 2009; Fr Simon Harkins in 2010; Fr Matthew McCarthy in 2011; Fr Ian Verrier in 2015; Fr James Mawdsley in 2016; Frs Alex Stewart and Krzysztof Sanetra in 2017; Fr Seth Phipps in 2018; Fr Gwilym Evans in 2022; Deacon Miklos Homolya in 2024 (planned) – plus Fr Patrick O’Donohue from Ireland (incardinated in 2023).
On the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, 11 February 2022, Pope Francis signed a decree confirming the liturgical charism of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter.

FEAST OF THE CHAIR OF ST PETER AND CONFRATERNITY
Our prayers are with all our FSSP priests and seminarians on Thursday 23rd February, the transferred Feast of
the Chair of St Peter, which is celebrated as a First Class Feast in apostolates of the Fraternity. Members of the
Confraternity of St Peter pray daily for the priests and seminarians and have a Mass offered for them once a
year. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Confraternity, please contact Fr Phipps
(sphipps@fssp.org) for further information and to apply.

Practical Suggestions for Lent – Fr Matthew Goddard
Try to get to Mass more often during Lent.
Try to get to Confession at least once during Lent.
If you are not already saying a daily Rosary then Lent would be a good time to start. If you do already,
then why not take a second Rosary during Lent for the needs of others.
The Stations of the Cross is a popular devotion which focusses us on the direction Lent leads us, namely
salvation won for us through Christ’s Passion and Death.
Why not take up a particular prayer intention for Lent. This could be personal or for others in your life,
and/or
o For the needs and development of our FSSP Latin Mass Chaplaincy in Bedford.
o For the FSSP (the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter) and all those entrusted to its care.
o For our Regina Caeli Academy.
o For an end to abortion clinic buffer zones.
Lent would be a good time to make an effort in spiritual reading.
Only take on things which you think you can manage for 40 days – don’t overstretch yourself.
Don’t choose something that will make you “crabby”, thus leading you and those around you into sin.
Don’t give up if you slip up in your resolve, but keep starting again for the 40 days.
If charity towards a challenging person in your life is particularly difficult, refraining from a lack of charity
and trying to get on with that person can be a greater penance and mortification than, for example,
giving up chocolate or the internet
Consider supporting a pro-life charity, such as SPUC or The Good Counsel Network.
Consider supporting a charity which supports persecuted Christians, such as Aid to the Church in Need.

This Sunday is Sexagesima Sunday, where we continue to prepare for Lent. It is a good time to start thinking about
what Lenten practices we will adopt, and coming up with a realistic, sustainable, and fruitful plan. Remember,
the three elements of a good Lent should be prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. There will be some practical ideas
to help with this on the back of the newsletter next Sunday.
ADULT CATECHISM

know if you are planning to attend: sphipps@fssp.org, but if you aren’t fussed about food you can just turn up!

COFFEE ROTA
As people sometimes need to come off the rota, we are always looking for new volunteers, so that your turn
comes up about once a month. It’s a great way to meet fellow Massgoers and you will be shown what to
do—making tea, coffee and squash, washing up and putting the cups away afterwards. Everything you need is
