Catechism on Sunday – Please note change of times

Catechism takes place in the Patrick Donegan Room at Christ the King this Sunday 7 April. Due to unforeseen circumstances the Mass will be a Low Mass rather than Sung, so it has been suggested that, as a one-off, we start catechism 30 minutes earlier as follows:

Programme

8:30 am   Low Mass followed by Confessions

10 am   Catechism (for under-8s)

10:30 am   Catechism (for under-16s)

11 am   Presentation for adults (16+)

11:30 am   Close

This will enable those who wish to do so, to attend the parish meeting which follows at 11.45 am in the church hall.

Hope to see you there!

NEWCOMER OR VISITOR?
A very warm welcome to Christ the King. There are Confessions before and after Mass, we usually say a Rosary after Mass and refreshments are available in the church hall; please introduce yourself to the priest or one of the congregation. Our Masses are said by priests of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter; copies of their magazine, Dowry, are available at the back of church.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE MASS
Please note that in this form of the Mass, the Church asks us to receive Holy Communion on the tongue and – if physically able – kneeling.

STANDING ORDERS
All but £50 of our Latin Mass collection money goes to support Christ the King Parish. If you would like to help to ensure the continuing presence of the FSSP at Bedford, please consider setting up a standing order to them. These need to be set up by you through your bank: account name: FSSP England (Reading); sort code 30-93-04; account number 02027330. Gift Aid forms are also available by request. Thank you.

EXTRA PARKING
An overflow area has been created to the right of the hall, marked by yellow hatchings, which you might like to use to prevent getting blocked in.

NEXT CATECHISM
Catechism continues next Sunday 7th April from 10.30 am onwards in the parish hall with sessions for under 8s, under 16s and adults.

REGINA CAELI OPEN DAY
Regina Caeli Academy, opening September 2019, is holding an Open Day on 13th April in Barton. More details are at www.rcahybrid.org.uk.

HOUSE CLEARANCE
The Kay family have recently moved and would like to find homes for the following items:
1. Sewing machine – only used once
2. Large rucksack – in almost new condition
3. Large notice board
All these items will be on view in the hall. Donations for the FSSP welcome.

MUSIC CORNER
Today, Septuagesima, sees the start of the pre-Lent period, perceived very obviously in musical terms by the lack of Gloria in the Ordinary and the disappearance of the Alleluia from the Propers. Sung Masses today and on 24th February will include Mass IV and a Creed melodically evocative of the penitential season – also no. IV.
Please note that I am going to give a talk on Gregorian chant on Sunday 24th March, from 10.30 – 11.30 in the Patrick Donegan Room. It will be a multimedia presentation with slides and musical examples. All welcome! Matthew Schellhorn, Director of Music.
