Corpus Christi Procession this afternoon: Sunday 3rd June, 3pm

Please do come and walk along with God.
Starting with our new parish patron Blessed James Bell, our martyrs died that we may be allowed to worship in the open, not in barns and attics anymore. Even now, in many countries, displaying the Catholic faith is punishable by death.
Let us honour our martyrs past and present! Let us offer our non Catholic fellow citizens the grace of encountering the Saviour along their very streets! Let us grow stronger in our faith through this public statement of Eucharistic love.
Plenary indulgence when attending.
Please arrive before 3pm to start on time. Bring flower petals in little baskets if you can, to spread before the Blessed Sacrament. The procession will last about 35 minutes, reaching St Albans at 3.45pm for Benediction; all ending at 4pm. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk back the shorter way to your car if left at St Mary’s.
!! Ordination minus 6 days !!
In but 6 days, Deacon Seth Phipps, FSSP will be ordained at St Mary’s, on Saturday 9th June 2018 at 11am, by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon. Thank you for your fantastic support last year. You set a wonderful precedent. Let us build up on our past experience and make this year’s ordination another success, please God. Please pray for Deacon Phipps and our other seminarians.
FOOD FOR NEXT SUNDAY’S FIRST MASS:
Please volunteer to bring food for our community picnic in the priory garden after the 1st Mass of Fr Phipps next Sunday. Please take TODAY plastic trays for this. Many thanks!
This week, help 3 poor souls out of Purgatory! You can gain a plenary indulgence this Sunday when taking part devotedly in the Corpus Christi procession; this Friday when reciting publicly the Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart; and next Sunday when attending Fr Seth Phipps’ First Mass.
The usual conditions apply: state of grace (and confession the week before or after); no attachment to sin even venial; some prayer to the intentions of the Holy Father; Holy Communion the very day.
Did you know? Every weekday, you can join in recitation of the Holy Rosary at St Mary’s, from 11.30am to 11.55am. We thank those who provide regularity for this essential Marian devotion. Please come 30mins before Mass this week and pray the Rosary for so many intentions!
Dowry Magazine printed version now available at the back of the church for you to take home. Also online: fssp.co.uk
First Communicants: Please pray for Pia Cotton and Grace King who will receive their 1st Holy Communion at this Sunday’s Mass.
Modesty reminder: despite warmer temperatures, let us cover our bodies out reverence for the sacred place and out of discretion for fellow worshippers.
Thank you.

Homily given on Friday 25 May 2018 to the young adults of Juventutem at St Mary Moorfields in London.

Juventutem London
Fr Armand De Malleray, FSSP, presents a sermon on Christ healing the paralysed man. As the man enters through a threshold from without to within, we are invitedto contemplate the crossing of boundaries, that of the unborn into the world, and the spiritual migration of humanity towards God. The sermon is a rallying call to the faithful to defend life and preserve the journey of the most vulnerable in our society. And so too, are we called to lead those complicit in abortion on a journey of conversion to Christ. In this mission, we can take inspiration from the friends of the paralysed man who, finding the doors blocked, used roundabout ways, and lowered him through the roof into the presence of Our Lord. Likewise, this crossing of borders towards God will require not just direct action but also the supernatural means of prayer. Fr De Malleray concludes with a reflection on another permeated boundary, the pierced side of Christ, whose divine blood offers mankind the grace needed to cross the border from this world into the kingdom of heaven.

Irish Referendum: 66.4% of Irish voters chose infanticide.
We did not.
Here at St Mary’s, there was a total of 8 hours of Eucharistic Adoration Thursday night in advance of the Irish referendum on whether or not repeal Ireland’s 8th Amendment currently preventing abortion on demand. Many gathered for the Masses that preceded and ended the Adoration at 9pm. We were struck by the numbers who adored Our Lord till midnight and the fact that there was a constant 13 people adoring for the entire 8 hours.
This is a war against principalities of evil that despise God’s creation. We need to adore Our Lord, fast, have Masses said and pray daily the Holy Rosary as Our Lady of Fatima asked us to if we are to counter this culture or death which is trying to destroy the world and those therein. No prayer, no sacrifice will have been offered in vain. Reckoning will take place on Judgment Day. May Our Lady obtain God’s mercy for us and the Western world.
Thank God for 10 new priests ordained at our US seminary in Nebraska yesterday Saturday 26 May, by Archbishop Sample of Portland. Please pray for many more!
Please pray for those to receive their 1st Holy Communion at next Sunday’s Mass.
Corpus Christi Procession Sunday 3rd June 3pm-4pm: For the third year running, Fr Dave Heywood P.P. and St Mary’s clergy would like to invite the parishioners of the new Parish of Blessed James Bell (as well as anyone interested) to come together for a Corpus Christi Procession next Sunday 3 June at 3.00 pm. The procession will begin at 3.00 pm in St Mary’s Shrine, Buttermarket Street. It will then make its way through the town centre to St Alban’s, Bewsey Street, for Benediction at approximately 3.45 pm. We extend a special invitation to the children who have just celebrated First Communion to wear their special clothes and lead the procession.
Please bring flower petals in baskets, to throw before the Blessed Sacrament.
Confirmations by Archbishop McMahon O.P. on Wednesday 20th June, 7:00pm followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament ending by 8pm. Refreshments.

Please bear in mind that the Bishops of England have reinstated Ascension Thursday as a holyday of obligation.
This means that from this year onwards, every able Catholic has an obligation to attend Holy Mass on Ascension Thursday.
Previously, the feast was transferred to the nearest Sunday, so that there was no obligation to attend Mass on the Thursday.
Holy Masses at St Mary’s Warrington will be offered today (Ascension Thursday) at 12:10pm, and at 7:30pm.
