All must dress modestly in church out of reverence for God and of respect for fellow-worshippers. Ladies are encouraged to wear a veil or mantilla. Tops must cover bodies down to elbows and skirts at least below knees. No shorts, no t-shirts, no leggings. In addition, on Sundays and feasts Sunday best should be worn by all: i.e. suits or jackets and ties for gentlemen, dresses for ladies. Thank you.
We love having young children around in church and we thank parents for inculcating their little ones the respect owed to the House of God, and to secure recollection for fellow-worshippers. Parents are welcome to give exuberant children a break in the Narthex or outdoors if needed, especially during the Canon of the Mass and homily.
To receive Holy Communion: one must be a Catholic, in the state of grace, one-hour fasting at least. In the traditional liturgy, Holy Communion is received kneeling (unless unable to) and always on the tongue. Thank you in advance. Kindly switch OFF your mobile phone before you enter the church.

Thank you to all those who contributed to the success of the annual Warrington Corpus Christi procession on Sunday 19th June. Like on previous years, it was a beautiful prayerful witness to our shared Catholic faith in the Eucharistic Lord. Pope Francis said: “May this action of the Eucharistic procession, which we will carry out shortly, respond to Jesus’ command. An action to commemorate him; an action to give food to the crowds of today; an act to break open our faith and our lives as a sign of Christ’s love for this city and for the whole world.” (Corpus Christi 2016 Homily). Thank you to Canon Christopher Cunningham, PP who welcomed the procession at St Alban’s Church as on previous years. Visit of Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan of Waterford (Ireland) with Fr Patrick O’Donohue, FSSP on 1-2 July at St Mary’s. Bishop Cullinan graciously accepted the request of Archbishop McMahon to step in for him as he was not fully recovered from Covid.
What was meant to be leisure time turned out to be a busy afternoon with 37 confirmed by Bishop Cullinan on Sat 2nd July, before taking the ferry back to Ireland. On behalf of all the candidates and families, we express our heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency.
