All must dress modestly in church out of reverence for God and of respect for fellow-worshippers. Women are encouraged to wear a veil or mantilla. Tops must cover bodies down to elbows and skirts at least below knees. No shorts, no t-shirts, no leggings. In addition, on Sundays and feasts Sunday best should be worn by all: i.e. suits or jackets and ties for gentlemen, dresses for ladies. Thank you.

We love having young children around in church and we thank parents for inculcating their little ones the respect owed to the House of God, and to secure recollection for fellow-worshippers. Parents are welcome to give exuberant children a break in the Narthex or outdoors if needed, especially during the Canon of the Mass and homily.

To receive Holy Communion: one must be a Catholic, in the state of grace, one-hour fasting at least. In the traditional liturgy, Holy Communion is received kneeling (unless unable to) and always on the tongue. Thank you in advance. Kindly switch OFF your mobile phone before you enter the church.

HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, 2-5 June:

We will offer special prayers for the Sovereign and country (cf Baronius p. 975). As the Jubilee Sunday coincides with Whitsunday, we will pray a Novena of preparation for Pentecost to request of God the Holy Ghost an outpouring of the Seven Gifts for Queen and Country. Thus after every public Mass from Fri 27^th May until Sat 4^th June, we will pray together the Veni Sancte Spiritus (Baronius p. 36).

Veni, Sancte Spiritus, reple tuorum corda fidelium, et tui amoris in eis ignem accende.

V. Emitte Spiritum tuum et creabuntur;

R. Et renovabis faciem terrae. 

Oremus: Deus, qui corda fidelium Sancti Spiritus illustratione docuisti: da nobis in eodem Spiritu recta sapere, et de eius semper consolatione gaudere. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.

Come, Holy Ghost, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.

         V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created

         R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray: O God, Who taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that, by the gift of the same Spirit, we may be always truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
