The Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency recently audited the Safeguarding practices of our English apostolates and have now uploaded their audit report which can be found on catholicsafeguarding.org.uk. Our overall grading is results being achieved, which is the fifth out of seven ratings from below basic to exemplary. I would like to thank our own Safeguarding Rep William Currie for his own significant contribution in promoting a safe culture within our chaplaincy.
Coincidentally, this Sunday, the Catholic Church in England particularly focusses on the importance of Safeguarding. With this in mind, have you heard of low-level concerns? If not, simply put, these are a sense that things are not quite right, that someone’s behaviour around others is leaving you uncomfortable. If you experience this, trust your instinct! Don’t think “what if I’m wrong?” but rather “what if I’m right?” and pass it on to our Safeguarding Rep. Phone 07825 089336, or email: safeguardingfssp@pm.me.
