CONFESSIONS TIMES

Our Lady of Ransom (for anyone): Sat 10:00am-11:15am, and 20mins before every weekday Mass. At All Saints: during Sunday Mass in the room behind the organ. Chesham Bois: after the Sunday 12noon Mass if not before.

Sadly no visa extension or renewal was granted in time, leading Fr Coelho to leave the country last week. He is assisting Fr Patrick O’Donoghue, FSSP in Waterford, Ireland until further notice. Please pray for a prompt solution. Meanwhile, Fr de Malleray carries on serving our communities of Bedford and Chesham Bois. Some adjustments in Mass times and other activities may take place.

We are also grateful to her successor Theresa Madden, a longtime member of our Bedford congregation, who comes with work experience as a parish secretary. Theresa will retain the bedford@fssp.org address.

Planning for 2026: Parents of First Holy Communion Candidates and Confirmation Candidates: please register interest ASAP. Converts, as well.

Well done 90 children plus their parents on a visit to the Tower of London on Friday 17 Oct with Fr de Malleray, reflecting on our glorious Catholic martyrs.

For your diaries:

Catholic Men UK’s Weekend at nearby Buckden Towers on 14-16 Nov with various speakers, including talks and holy Mass by Fr de Malleray. Organised by our Bedford parishioner Samuel for Catholic Men UK. Visit actionfollowsbeing.uk.

The First Saturday Mass and Marian devotion attract about 80 adults and children. Since OLOR’s parish room cannot fit a large crowd, Willington Hall (Church Rd, Willington Village, Bedford, MK44 3PY) has been booked for all those who wish to gather from 12:30pm.

12noon annual Pontifical high Mass of Reparation for abortion, at St Joseph & Holy Child Church,  Bedford MK40 1HU, on the solemnity of All Saints, by Bishop Marian Eleganti OSB, with various clergy including Fr de Malleray as Assistant Priest.

2-4pm: All Saints party at Willington Hall.

Please note that this year 1st Nov is NOT a holiday of obligation, so that Catholics are not under obligation to attend holy Mass that Saturday. Needless to say, we wholeheartedly encourage all to avail themselves of the great opportunities listed above.
