CONFESSIONS TIMES
Our Lady of Ransom (for anyone): Sat 10:00am-11:15am, and 20mins before every weekday Mass. At All Saints: during Sunday Mass in the room behind the organ. Chesham Bois: after the Sunday 12noon Mass if not before.
Very Rev. John Berg, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter, will informally visit Chesham Bois and Bedford on 5-8 March, after his earlier visits in our other English apostolates of Warrington and Reading.

Anyone who wishes to greet Fr Berg can do so after the two holy Masses at which Fr Berg will be the celebrant: in Chesham Bois on Ash Wednesday after the 11:00am Sung Mass; in Bedford after the 8:30am Mass on Friday 7th March, Feast of St Thomas Aquinas (2nd class in FSSP). Tea & coffee will be available in the parish halls on both occasions.
Congratulations to Jonathan and Jacinta Moxham on the happy birth of their ninth child Sebastian who will be baptised on Shrove Tuesday 4th March at 7:30am in Kempston.
Catholic recycling (actually a rubric from the missal): Bring your blessed palms from last year’s Palm Sunday to be burned into ashes ahead of Ash Wednesday. Hand your palms to the clergy in a bag this Sunday 2nd March the latest.

ASH WEDNESDAY (5 March)
Day of fast and abstinence. All Catholics aged 18-59 inclusive are obliged to fast (one meal & two small snacks permitted); and all Catholics aged 14+ must abstain from meat. (Reminder that all days of Lent, excluding Sundays, are days of penance too.)
Not a Holy Day of Obligation, but the faithful are encouraged to mark the beginning of Lent by assisting at Mass at:
- 6:30AM at Our Lady of Ransom, Kempston (starts with blessing of ashes, hence Mass ending by 7:20am)
- 11:00AM Sung Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Chesham Bois (celebrant: Very Rev Fr John Berg, Superior General FSSP).
- 5:45PM at Our Lady of Ransom, Kempston
Imposition of ashes at the beginning of every Mass
Most beneficial Lenten penance: attend a holy Mass once on weekday. Circle your chosen date(s):
My Week 1: 10―11―12―13―14―15 March
My Week 2: 17―18―19―20―21―22 March
My Week 3: 24―25―26―27―28―29 March
My Week 4: 31 March―1―2―3―4―5 April
My Week 5: 7―8―9―10―11―12 April
My (Holy) Week 6: 14―15―16―17―18―19 Apr
A confessor awaits you in our state-of-the-art soundproof confessional 20 minutes before every weekday Mass at Our Lady’s in Kempston.
Thank you to the benefactress who vouched to help us cover the significant cost of £1,500.00 for the soundproofing of the confessional at Our Lady of Ransom.
Lenten reading: discover the hidden riches of the medieval Marian hymn Stabat Mater presented by Fr de Malleray in his booklet available at CTS: ctsbooks.org/product/meditations-on-the-stabat-mater/ for £4.50. Join our Blessed Mother at the foot of the Cross of her Son and walk with her on the road from life to death to eternal life, by meditating upon the Stabat Mater line by line.

Our Sunday Hall at All Saints:
Thank you to the volunteers preparing the hall, doing the tea & coffee, and tidying up after. All are encouraged to pop in into the hall after Sunday Mass as it is an important opportunity to socialise and build up the community. More volunteers are needed: can you offer 90mins (10:00am-11:30am) one Sunday a month?
