CONFESSION TIMES
Our Lady of Ransom (for anyone): Sat 10:00am-11:15am, and 20mins before every weekday Mass. At All Saints: during Sunday Mass in the room behind the organ. Chesham Bois: after the Sunday 12noon Mass if not before.
DID you KNOW? Join us for coffee & biscuits in the village hall after every 8:30am Sunday Mass in Bedford. A great opportunity to catch up after worship, and meet fellow parishioners. Plus charity book stall, crafts, and children’s games. Walk across church cemetery to find the parish hall by the river.
And also after our 12noon Sunday Mass in Chesham Bois.

Pray with the Lord on Wednesday 2nd July (until dawn of Thu 3rd July.) Why? This week Parliament voted two laws against our more vulnerable human brethren: sick and elderly people as well as unborn persons up to natural birth will be legally killed. On the feast of the Visitation, the most pro-life mystery of the Christian faith when two pregnant mothers embrace, and love spreads among their two unborn children, we invite you to spend one hour in Eucharistic adoration to intercede for our vulnerable brethren and to beg of God the return of our dear country to natural and divine laws.
Schedule:
- 7:15pm: holy Mass of the Visitation of Our Lady, with homily
- 8:00pm to 6:00am: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and hourly slots of Eucharistic adoration
- 6:00am: Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
- 6:15am: holy Mass
The church of Our Lady of Ransom is equipped with lavatories, a kitchenette, and a parish room for anyone wishing to rest a little during the night. Please note that your commitment is for one hour only. You don’t have to stay longer, but of course you are more than welcome to do so if you wish. You can arrive any time in the evening, night, or morning, as car park and church will remain open.

Congratulations to our nine children making their First Holy Communion this Corpus Christi Sunday in Bedford and Chesham Bois, followed by Eucharistic processions.
The Church is currently celebrating a Jubilee Year commemorating the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. This Jubilee began on December 27, 2023, the anniversary of the first apparition, and will conclude on Friday 27th June, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart.
To prepare spiritually and implore from the Sacred Heart of Jesus many graces for our Chaplaincy, our families, our country, and for holy Church we invite you to join in a NOVENA, reciting daily the litany of the Sacred Heart, from Wednesday 18th June included, to Thursday 26th June included. We invite all to attend holy Mass on Friday 27th June, 8:30am (not of obligation.)
Last Ladies’ Group: Sat 28th June 1:30pm (arrive earlier for 12:30pm shared lunch, 11:30am Mass, 10am Eucharistic adoration and confessions.)
Fr de Malleray will talk on Godly and evil examples of spiritual interactions.
Please do come and attend this last meeting until Summer recess. Be an investor in spiritual life and community growth through such chaplaincy events.

Well done 8 investors who took part in our monthly young adults’ trek & pub last 21st June at Pegsdon Hills.
Annual Chaplaincy pilgrimage to Walsingham on Sat 12th July. Save the date and register interest with Rita. We will give thanks for 14 years (minus a week) since the establishment of the Gregorian Chaplaincy (19 July 2011) by Bishop Doyle. The schedule will be similar to last year’s, with holy Mass, picnic & free time, talks, holy mile, and visit to the Priory ruins. Scottish illustrator William Stewart offers for sale an image he has made of Our Lady of Pontmain (approved apparition in France in 1870). It is a large, framed, illustration of Our Lady of Pontmain (Mother of Hope).
