Very Rev. John Berg, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter, will informally visit Chesham Bois and Bedford on 5-8 March, after his earlier visits in our other English apostolates of Warrington and Reading.
Well done all of you who attended the important monthly Chaplaincy talks (three of them in total) this past week in Bedford and Chesham Bois. Investing your time in these events (once a month) is the best way to build up our community and attract people with whom to share the riches of Catholic tradition. Listen to latest talk here https://youtu.be/FpaAaApW66Q?si=ZO5a0LfEo_gvXD_K .

WONDERING what penance will please Our Lord best and benefit you and your family most fruitfully this Lent?
Some took the initiative of a longer penitential season with cold showers; others look at shortening their Internet time. This eventually is to prepare us to partake better in the fruit of the redemption earned for us by the Lord Jesus on the Cross. What about going straight to the Cross then, this Lent? What about attending the unbloody re-enactment of the sacrifice of the Cross once on a weekday?

What about having “Good Friday each week” during this Lent 2025? Ask yourselves what Lenten commitment will truly call for a change of habits, hence merit more for your soul before God, and at the same time which will bring you to Jesus through the shortest and safest route. Break free from your Mass-free weekly routine this Lent. Sit down today and write in your diary on which weekday you will attend holy Mass (at which authorised venue, at what time) on each of the 6 weeks of Lent:
My Week 1: 10-15 March: ………………………..
My Week 2: 17-22 March: ………………………..
My Week 3: 24-29 March: …………………………
My Week 4: 31 Mar-3 Apr: ……………………….
My Week 5: 7-12 Apr: ……………………………
My (Holy) Week 6: 14-19 Apr: ……………………
No online method, no Exodus programme, no revelation or book will ever suggest a Lenten “penance” more meritorious and altogether fruitful than coming to Calvary at Mass once a week (or more) on a weekday this Lent. If you are afraid of that “penance,” ask Our Lady, ask St Joseph, ask the martyrs, ask the angels for advice and support.

And please remember: a confessor awaits you in our state-of-the-art soundproof confessional 20 minutes before every weekday Mass at Our Lady’s in Kempston.
God bless you!

Thank you to the benefactress who vouched to help us cover the significant cost of £1,500.00 for the soundproofing of the confessional at Our Lady of Ransom.
Our Sunday Hall at All Saints:
Thank you to the volunteers preparing the hall, doing the tea & coffee, and tidying up after. All are encouraged to pop in into the hall after Sunday Mass as it is an important opportunity to socialise and build up the community. More volunteers are needed: can you offer 90mins (10:00am-11:30am) one Sunday a month?
Our Lady of Walsingham statue now visits Chesham Bois households. Please book to host Our Lady for a week.
