DID you KNOW? Join us for coffee & biscuits in the village hall after every 8:30am Sunday Mass in Bedford. Plus charity book stall, crafts, and children’s games. Walk across church cemetery to find the parish hall by the river. And also after our 12noon Sunday Mass in Chesham Bois.

First Saturday Marian Devotions 2nd August:

  • 10am-11am Adoration, Confessions & Benediction;
  • 11am holy Rosary & Confessions;
  • 11:30am holy votive Mass of the Immaculate Heart of Mary;
  • 12:30pm shared lunch at family venue.

Thank you for your prayer for a happy annual Summer Weekend of Juventutem last week: a unique opportunity for 18-35 singles to meet, pray, chat, learn and make friends. Young adults from Bedford and Chesham Bois were among the 54 who attended, including six FSSP priests, deacon, and seminarians. See our picture album on www.flickr.com/photos/138056205@N08/.

There are currently 12 Juventutem groups in activity in Europe and America: https://juventutem.org/ and many more, now inactive, since the beginning in 2004.

The FSSP Chaplaincy clergy hosted the quarterly

clergy Deanery meeting in Kempston last Wednesday. With fourteen priests and deacons attending, it was the largest deanery meeting over the past twelve months. With approval from the Dean and Parish Priest, the scheduled included dedicated prayer time. Thus, after a presentation by a diocesan Youth minister, Eucharistic adoration and Benediction followed, with Confessions being heard. It was a rare opportunity for all of us priests and deacons serving souls between Bedford, Shefford, and Leighton Buzzard, to pray together before the Lord, and for each other. All were then invited by the Chaplaincy for lunch at a nearby restaurant.

March for Life UK in London on

Saturday 6th September 2025. Save the date!

Jubilee Walk and Prayer with parishioners from the Bedford Deanery on Saturday 4th October: depart at 9:15am from Bedford churches, arrive by 10:15am at St Joseph’s Church for public recitation of the holy Rosary, adoration, and confessions.

Reminder: the same day at 3pm, Confirmations by Bishop Oakley.

Supporting God? Well, yes, through helping us purchase a proper stand or “throne” to support the sacred monstrance used for Eucharistic adoration every Saturday morning. So far we have had a makeshift stand unworthy of such a liturgical function. After enquiry, the best affordable option is this gilded throne (also usable as missal stand for main feasts).

Thank you for contributing to its £582.42 purchase and shipping if you can.

In this warm weather, we all enjoy lighter clothing. But the usual customs of modesty apply for women and men as well. Thank you. 😊

In addition, wearing Sunday best at Sunday Mass is a traditional way of celebrating the day of the Lord (avoiding t-shirts, sport shoes, casual wear.)                 Thank youfor your consideration.
