CONFESSIONS TIMES
Our Lady of Ransom (for anyone): Sat 10:00am-11:15am, and 20mins before every weekday Mass. At All Saints: during Sunday Mass in the room behind the organ. Chesham Bois: after the Sunday 12noon Mass if not before.
Confirmations: Please pray for our 19 candidates as they prepare to receive God the Holy Ghost: even though none of your relatives may be among the candidates, we invite you to recite daily this traditional prayer to the Holy Ghost to their intention (ideally from 26 Sep to 4 Oct included):
English:
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray. O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Latin: Veni, Sancte Spiritus, reple tuorum corda fidelium: et tui amoris in eis ignem accende.
Emitte Spiritum tuum, et creabuntur.
Et renovabis faciem terrae.
Oremus. Deus, qui corda fidelium Sancti Spiritus illustratione docuisti: da nobis in eodem Spiritu recta sapere; et de eius semper consolatione gaudere. Per Christum Dominum nostrum.
Amen.
Bishop David Oakley being on leave and thus sadly unable to be with us as was originally planned, delegation has been granted to Gregorian Chaplain Fr Armand de Malleray, FSSP to confer the sacrament.
The ceremony will take place on Sat. 4th October, 3:00pm at Sts Philip & James Church, 2 Severn Way, Bedford MK41 7BX. All welcome.
That same day, Sat 4th Oct, altered schedule in Kempston:
- 10:00AM Confessions
- 10:30AM holy Mass
- 11:15AM holy Rosary
Planning for 2026:
First Holy Communion Candidates and Confirmation Candidates:
please come forward for us to see if we have enough people to set up groups.
Converts, as well.
For your diaries:
Monthly talk for all (adults) in Chesham Bois on Saturday 18th October, 7pm.
In Bedford it seems that the separate monthly groups for ladies and for gentlemen may work better if combined as is the case in Chesham where between 30 and 40 adults attend. Let us know what day and time in the week you are more likely to attend in Bedford (and whether you would attend alone or with your spouse): email bedford@fssp.org.
Catholic Men UK’s Weekend at nearby Buckden Towers on 14-16 Nov with Fr de Malleray. Organised by our Bedford parishioner Samuel as part of Catholic Men UK. Visit actionfollowsbeing.uk.

The First Saturday Mass and Marian devotion attract about 80 adults and children. Since OLOR’s parish room cannot fit a large crowd, Willington Hall (Church Rd, Willington Village, Bedford, MK44 3PY) has been booked for all those who wish to gather from 12:30pm.
We are delighted that the scout, guide, cubs and wolvet groups are building up nicely with even more exciting activities planned this year. We thank you the parents for their dedication. Email simon_lubbock@hotmail.com for info.
Register interest and suggest dates for the monthly trek for single young adults 18-35.
Any single adults 18-35 are welcome to the monthly Juventutem London group led by Fr de Malleray: 17 Oct, 7 Nov, 5 Dec at St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 96 North Side, London SW18 2QU: 6pm Confessions, 7pm Sung Mass with homily, 8pm social with Q&As. No booking needed: just turn up. Bring friends along.

Well done 70 young adults who attended the Juventutem London September event last week.
School year started! At Regina Caeli Academy in Meppershall, the Chaplain blessed the building and the 88 pupils’ backpacks after the start-of-term holy Mass on 22nd Sept.

40th edition of the London ROSARY CRUSADE in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart. On Sat 11th October, join thousands of pilgrims including children, for an easy one-hour walk. Meet at 1:45pm outside Westminster Cathedral (along Ambrosden Avenue). Arrive for Marian devotions at the Brompton Oratory. Ends by 5:15pm. Our Chaplaincy cubs, wolvets, scouts and guides will walk together as part of the Crusade, wearing their uniforms. Families and individual pilgrims welcome! Free.

Autumn Ceilidh on Sat 27th Sept, Cottonmill Community & Cycling Centre. Off Old Oak, Cottonmill Lane, St Albans. AL1 2EF. Contact Emma: sizimizi@yahoo.co.uk.

No fence in Kempston: after consultation, the owner of the field decided that erecting a permanent fence along the riverbank was not possible. Volunteer for Kempston All Saints River Watch (bedford@fssp.org) as a designated adults on a rota. The Chaplain or the lay coordinator will indicate when the field can safely be accessed by children. Until then, we thank you for your cooperation and diligence in keeping children within the hall, or in any case out of the field. God bless.
Congratulations to Chris and Lucy Norfolk on the holy Baptism of their daughter Eleanor last Wednesday.
