Full Solemn Easter Triduum in Bedford

A beautiful large wall crucifix salvaged from a church skip was kindly donated to the Chaplaincy. Building a bespoke base to make it free-standing, plus professional restoration work (a finger and a toe on the Corpus were missing) and repainting cost £550.00.

We welcome donations to help us cover the cost. Thank you in advance!

Improving safety together at All Saints: although there will be volunteers on the field to monitor the riverbank, parents still have responsibility for looking after their children.

Play area: parents/responsible adults needed

Despite the temporary green fence experimented with two weeks ago, following legal consultation by our charity it is with regret that the use of the field behind the hall at All Saints Church has been suspended at this time due to serious concerns about the safety of children and vulnerable adults with regards to the river that flows past it. We will be able to use the field again once some health and safety measures have been put in place. We are looking for responsible adults to join a rolling rota of designated volunteers who will supervise activities at the field and in the Reactive8 play area.

What is required:

  1. Volunteers to be DBS checked
  2. Volunteers to undergo one hour safeguarding training online
  3. Volunteers to sign a code of conduct
  4. Volunteers to wear a high visibility vest in order to identify their role and be a point of reference

If we have enough volunteers the task will not be too onerous or time consuming but it will be an important one for the safety and well-being of the children in our care. If you would like to volunteer then please see Rita Carroll or William Currie or email wpcurrie@btinternet.com.

Farewell Seminarian Luke Mazurek, FSSP: meet in hall after Sunday Mass on 6th April, ahead of Luke’s departure on Easter Monday after six months in pastoral placement with us.
