Ascension Thursday of Obligation

Please bear in mind that the Bishops of England have reinstated Ascension Thursday as a holyday of obligation. This means that from this year onwards, every able Catholic has an obligation to attend Holy Mass on Ascension Thursday. Previously, the feast was transferred to the nearest Sunday, so that there was no obligation to attend Mass on the Thursday. Holy Masses at St Mary’s Warrington will be offered today (Ascension Thursday) at 12:10pm, and at 7:30pm.
