PARISH CHRISTMAS FAYRE
Next Saturday 26th November 1 pm—3 pm. This is the main parish fundraiser of the year so please support it
if you can. The Latin Mass community will be running a stall. The raffle tickets are a major source of
income—please return your money and stubs to Rita Carroll, who also has tickets. Draw to be made at 3 pm
on the day of the Fayre.

LATIN MASS SOCIETY MASS OF REPARATION FOR ABORTION
Since the passing of the Abortion Bill in 1967, 10 million babies have been lost to abortion in the UK. Mass of
Reparation Saturday 12th November at 12 noon, Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Holy Child & St Joseph’s,
Brereton Road, Bedford MK40 1HU. Celebrant Fr Gerard Byrne with deacon and subdeacon, followed by a
buffet lunch. All welcome.

FIRST SATURDAY – ON SUNDAY

Therese from First Saturday will be setting up a stall after the 8:30am Mass on Sunday – support a local Catholic business and get some early Christmas shopping done!

Catholic men are invited to join the new sports club that will meet once a month in Bedford.
While the focus will be badminton, there will be variety including football, basketball, chess and billiards. All skill levels are welcome.

MASS OF REPARATION FOR ABORTION

By kind invitation of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Bedford, on Saturday, 12th November 2022 at 12 noon, there will be a Mass offered in reparation for all the abortions carried out. The celebrant with be Fr Gerard Byrne Music will be under the direction of Dominic Bevan
The Shrine of the Miraculous Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is housed in the church of Holy Child and St Joseph, 2 Brereton Road, Bedford MK40 1HU.

The Guardian published an article purporting to show what a 9 week old unborn baby looks like. They literally removed the baby, the clowns – see details here. You can complain here, and it doesn’t take long – might make them think twice next time.

CAR PARKING
As well as the Macmillan coffee morning, our Scouts are meeting after the 8.30 Mass and 50 of our parish
children are enrolling for First Holy Communion at the 10.30 Mass. This may result in a gridlocked car park – please be aware!

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING
Sunday, 9.30 am—12 noon in the church hall. Home-made cakes for sale plus raffle. Please support this very
worthwhile cause.

SUNG MASS
This will take place at 8.30 am on Sunday 16th October, with a practice on Saturday 15th October in church
from 3 pm—5 pm. Dominic Bevan, a professional singer, will be leading this practice—it would make his visit
more worthwhile if we had a good number of people. Men in particular would be most welcome. No
experience or sight reading needed.

NO REFRESHMENTS ON SUNDAY 16TH OCTOBER
The Parish’s First Holy Communion classes this year are going to be meeting in the hall from 9.00—10.15 on
certain Sundays, the first of which is next Sunday 16th October. This means that unfortunately we cannot
meet for refreshments in the hall after the 8.30 Mass next Sunday. We are looking at alternative solutions
going forward.

We are looking at the possibility of a visit to the relics on Tuesday 11th or Wednesday 12th October in the
church minibus. Is anyone willing to drive on either day? Please speak to Barbara Kay (mbky3 AT outlook.com) if you can help, or you might like to make your own pilgrimage.
 
LITTLE WAY HEALING MINISTRIES
Holy Child & St Joseph’s, Bedford, Saturday 15th October, 10.45 am – 4pm. Please join us for all or part of the
day with Mass, prayer, praise and healing. Bring packed lunch, drinks available.
