The Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool is now seeking to recruit an
exceptional candidate as our first Chief Operating Officer. Working
closely with the Archbishop, Moderator of the Curia, the Trustees and
leads of each department in the Archdiocesan Offices, our Chief
Operating Officer will lead the work of all lay personnel who work at
the Archdiocesan Offices to ensure they provide the most effective and
responsive support to the parishes within the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
You will be a collaborative, emotionally intelligent leader who has a passion for the
church and a proven track record of leading change in a large organisation(s). With
significant commercial experience you will have the ability to make decisions to
balance financial pressures with the diverse interests of the Archdiocese and the
wider public.
We are seeking a strategic thinker who is able to work with others to develop a
strategy and create and sustain structures to successfully implement it. Exceptional
communication skills are essential along with the ability to influence a variety of
different types of people.
This appointment represents an exciting opportunity for someone with vision,
commitment and skill to develop the Archdiocesan Offices so they are best able to
support parishes in the Archdiocese of Liverpool respond to the challenges and
opportunities of the future.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool is one of the largest Archdioceses in the UK. It
extends from the Mersey to the Ribble and encompasses the Isle of Man and parts of
Lancashire, north Cheshire and Greater Manchester. It serves a Catholic population
of over 550,000.
