WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS THIS CHRISTMAS!

Frs de Malleray, Loewenstein and Verrier wish you a blessed feast of the Nativity of the Lord and assure you of their prayer at the altar. They thank you for your dedication and support to the liturgical, devotional and material life at St Mary’s Shrine.

EXTRA CONFESSIONS:

24 Dec: 11pm-11:50pm; 25 Dec: 10:30am-12noon

Four gentle reminders:

☞The Nativity of the Lord is a holiday of obligation: every able Catholic must attend Holy Mass that day under penalty of grave sin: either Midnight Mass (even before midnight), or the Dawn Mass, or the Mass of the Day (Holy Communion can be received at the Midnight Mass and also at one of the two others if one wishes).

To receive Holy Communion: one must be a Catholic, in state of grace, one-hour fasting at least. In the EF liturgy, Holy Communion is received kneeling (unless unable to) and always on the tongue. Thank you in advance.

FSSP clergy do not retain Christmas and Easter collections for personal use. All Christmas collections will be used for the day-to-day running of St Mary’s Shrine (which includes the food, lodgings, pension allowance and salary of your priests).

Did you know? St Mary’s Shrine costs £1,444/week to run and maintain. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Fr Andrew Jolly, from Wigan, acting as Subdeacon at Midnight Mass.

Young Adults Group: Sat 19th January, for 18-35: excursion to Holywell, the only place of pilgrimage where pilgrims have come without interruption even during Penal Times, due to the reputation of sanctity of the martyred virgin St Winifred, a wonderful intercessor for holy purity.

Walk down to the ruins of Basingwerk Abbey (30mins).
12noon: Visit St Winifred’s Shrine on the way back.
1pm: Lunch in nearby restaurant or at St Pio Cafe in nearby Pantasaph
4pm/5pm:back in Warrington

Facebook event here.

PRIORY CAMPAIGN: By the end of January, a pre-planning application process should hopefully confirm the change of use from ‘Business’ to ‘Community’, enabling our trustees to decide which part of the building(s) to purchase.  Meanwhile, further donations are gratefully received, as we have only 1/3 of the asking price. Contact malleray@fssp.org for any inquiries.

31st December: 12:10pm Mass with Plenary Indulgence Te Deum in Thanksgiving for the year past. 1st January: Sung Mass with Plenary Indulgence Veni Creator asking graces for the year starting.

Vocation Weekend 25-27 Jan. 2019, Warrington, for Catholic men 18-30. Already 5 men booked.  Contact: malleray@ssp.org
