A new website to help us acquire our own church!
Visit holyfamilyproject.co.uk and share the link with your friends and acquaintances.

Even though they may not be able to attend our Masses, still they may be inspired by the unique configuration of our Bedford Chaplaincy apostolate, benefitting from full-time clergy, as well as traditional scout groups and education with RCA.

Congratulations to Alix Grimer, baptised and confirmed on 1st Nov in Bedford.
Please help EIGHT holy souls out of Purgatory into heaven this week:
On all the days from Nov 1st through Nov 8th inclusive, a plenary indulgence, applicable only to the Poor Souls in Purgatory, is granted to those who visit a cemetery and pray even if only mentally for the departed, and for the traditional intentions of the Holy Father. There must be one visit for each day one seeks to gain the indulgence; one visit will not apply for several days.

The usual conditions for a plenary indulgence apply: being in state of grace, receiving Holy Communion and going to Confession the day the indulgence is sought (or within 20 days before or after that day).
One sacramental Confession suffices for several plenary indulgences, but a separate Holy Communion and a separate prayer for the Holy Father’s intentions are required for each plenary indulgence (cf. Vatican website: The Gift of the Indulgence #5, AD 2000).
On All Souls’ Day (Monday 2nd Nov) a plenary indulgence, applicable only to the Poor Souls in Purgatory, is granted to those who visit a Catholic church and there recite one Our Father and one Creed.
How to have a holy Mass offered to any of your intentions? Write your intention on our small, printed envelopes, inserting your stipend in cash inside, and hand it to the priest or drop it in the collection basket. The merits of Christ being infinite in value, your stipend does not “pay for the Mass,” but it goes to support the priest celebrant who retains it for personal use (one stipend / day maximum). Your intentions will appear on the Chaplaincy bulletin, unless you don’t mind for that Mass to be offered privately. There is no obligation to attend personally the Mass you ask to be offered.
Book for our Bedford post–Christmas dinner on Tuesday 5th January, 6:30pm at the King William Pub, 56 High St, Kempston MK42 7AL. Email bedford@fssp.org.
Or for our pre–Christmas dinner in Chesham Bois on Sat 12th Dec (email Agostino DF).
