Chaplaincy clergy ‘new and old’:
The arrival of newly ordained Fr Conan McGonagle, FSSP is scheduled on 3rd July. His two First Masses with us will both be sung, and will include individual First Blessings and refreshments after Mass (kindly bring and share) on the two following Sundays: 5th July, 8:30am at All Saints, Kempston; and 12th July 12noon in Chesham Bois.

Fr de Malleray will be away in a monastery from 30th June to 2nd July included, on the occasion of his 25th Silver Jubilee of priestly ordination occurring on Tuesday 30th June. Please note that there will be no holy Masses at OLOR on those dates.
Parishioners plan to give thanks to God on First Saturday 4th July for Fr de Malleray’s 25th anniversary of ordination and the grace of the priesthood:
Where: Our Lady of Ransom, 307 Bedford Rd, Kempston, Bedford MK42 8QB
- 10:00am Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament & Confessions at OLOR (Our Lady of Ransom, 307 Bedford Rd, Kempston, Bedford MK42 8QB)
- 11:10am Eucharistic Benediction
- 11:30am: Low Mass
Then drive to:
Where: Willington Peace Memorial Hall, MK44 3PY, 12 minutes’ drive from OLOR

- 1:00pm: Lunch
- 2:00pm: Presentation on the priesthood by Fr de Malleray on his 25th anniversary of priestly ordination (actual date: 30th June 2001)

- 4:00pm: hall closes
Discounted books by Fr de Malleray and other authors will be available.
Thank you all who took part in the novena of preparation of the consecration of our Chaplaincy to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, performed on the feast and solemnised the following Sunday. In our troubled times, we have no better recourse than such supernatural means. Let us make sure we all have a picture or statue of the Sacred Heart in our homes.

Further prayers are needed for various Church intentions:
- Bishop David Oakley of Northampton, recently charged with abuse of minor following an investigation into “non-recent safeguarding allegations”.
- The Priestly Fraternity of St Pius X, who announced its intention to consecrate bishops again without papal mandate on 1st July.
- Our Gregorian Chaplaincy, whose 15th anniversary will occur next 19th July, following the 38th anniversary of foundation of the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter on 18th July.
The solemnity of Sts Peter and Paul on Monday 29th June is NOT a holiday of obligation this year. However, no better prayer can be offered for the Church than attending holy Mass on that day – at OLOR at 9:30am. A plenary indulgence can be gained that day under the usual conditions.
Next monthly trek for young adults on Sat 18th July, along the Grand Union Canal and Oxbridge Area.
Park outside The Old Orchard pub on Park Ln, Harefield, UB9 6HJ at 11:30am.

Coach to the March for Life: would you be interested to pay for a seat on a coach to attend this major pro-life event on Saturday 5 September? A sensational announcement by the organisers: for the first time, 14 UK Catholic bishops will attend.
Please email Theresa (bedford@fssp.org) to allow time to look into the cost of hiring a coach based on numbers. Visit www.marchforlife.co.uk/2026-event-page for more info and how to get involved.
