Moving near St Mary’s Shrine? With at least 3 priests full time, daily Mass, confessions and devotions; with easy access by rail and road; and with the active support of our Archbishop and Parish Priest, St Mary’s Shrine Church is a very attractive place to live by. Contact Fr Rector (malleray@fssp.org) if you would like to move (very) near us, as plans are afoot for potential accommodation and the decision to be made shortly will depend on the interest expressed. Count £100,000.00 as a minimum cost for a 850 sq ft flat.

Watch Holy Mass at St Marys daily on www.livemass.org. The Mass of the day can be watched for 24hrs and that of the Sunday for the entire week.

There are ten places remaining for girls aged 10 – 17 years-old on Summer Camp St Petronilla this August 13-18. The venue is the Salesian Savio House in the Peak District. If you would like to know more about the camp or to request a booking form, please email us here. (The Boys’ Camp is full.)

FLICKR albums from previous years’ camps can be viewed here: Girls 2017;  Boys 2017Girls 2016Boys 2016.

Welcome to Fr Pierre-Henri Gouy, FSSP, visiting from France. He is one of the chaplains at the National Shrine in Lourdes. Make sure to contact him on your next pilgrimage: www.tarbes-lourdes.fssp.fr

About 35 attended a talk on “Personhood” by Fr Armand de Malleray, FSSP at the SPUC branch in St Helen’s parish centre, Crosby, last Thursday.

Diocesan Ordinations: like in the past two years, the Shrine clergy attended the diocesan ordinations yesterday, this time at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Let us pray for the three new priests. Fr Phipps, ordained one month earlier, gave First Blessings to a number of diocesan confreres.

Legion of Mary? Dennis Croughan, President of the Warrington Curia of the Legion of Mary would be happy to pay a visit and answer any questions that you may have regarding the Legion and assist in any way you require if we wanted to start a group. Please email warrington@fssp.org.

Modesty posters on church doors: this is a sensitive but important topic. It goes deeper than a mere dress code as is in force for instance at the Royal Ascot (see their very detailed description of which items are permitted and which would bar access…).

For us Catholics, wearing the appropriate clothes goes all the way back to God clothing our first parents after the fall; and it anticipates on the wedding garments described in the Apocalypse. A poster by definition must be succinct, but we plan a conference on this spiritual topic in the coming weeks, with Q & A’s.
