The annual Pilgrimage of Christendom from Paris to Chartres is the largest yearly gathering of Catholics worshipping according to the traditional liturgy. This year, Sat 4 to Mon 6 June 2022.

Providentially, after 2 years of interruption due to Covid, the dates this year (4-6 June) coincides with the UK Jubilee Bank Holiday, allowing many more Brits than usual to take part. Currently the Covid travel regulations are nearly disappeared (with just one single negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours or an antigen test result taken within 48 hours pre-departure, and no further test either in France or back in England; nor any quarantine).
Arrival in Paris by Friday night 3rd June, for departure from Paris early morning on Saturday 4th June. Walk 70 miles. Only carry the light items you need for the day, while heavy stuff remains in your suitcase loaded on Pilgrimage trucks. Pilgrims communal tents and troughs available and breakfasts. Bring your own lunches and suppers. Arrival in Chartres on Monday afternoon 6th June, with pontifical high Mass in the cathedral.

We love having young children around in church and we thank parents for inculcating their little ones the respect owed to the House of God, and to secure recollection for fellow-worshippers. Parents are welcome to give exuberant children a break in the Narthex or outdoors if needed, especially during the Canon of the Mass and homily.

We already have so many catechisms, what do we need of another? We indeed have in abundance catechisms and religious manuals which appeal only to the intellect; books that do not aim at the warmth of expression and the fervent, persuasive eloquence which appeal to the heart, the force and vivifying power which affect the will through the influence of the Holy Spirit.
This Catechism aims at cultivating all the three powers of the soul: the intellect, the emotions, and the will. It does not therefore content itself with mere definitions. Penance Reminder: Catholics 14+ must abstain from meat every Friday; Catholics 18-59 must fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Fast currently means: one full meal a day plus up to two snacks which altogether do not amount to another full meal. On the feast of the Annunciation of Archangel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Friday 25th March 2022, we invite you to a Holy Hour of Eucharistic adoration with Sung Vespers at St Mary’s Warrington at 4:00pm. This is timed to coincide with the act of consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Holy Father with all the bishops of the world. In Fatima, as per Our Lady’s message in Fatima.
