Accommodation
near St Mary’s
Several parishioners have expressed a
desire to live nearer to St Mary’s, but are struggling to find anything
suitable on their own, either to rent or to buy. With this in mind, a few of
the faithful have decided to get together to explore alternative ways to secure
affordable accommodation in Warrington, both for themselves and their fellow
Catholics.
If this is of interest, you are invited
to an informal meeting in Priory Court on Saturday 29th May at 10:00am
to look at possible options. The invitation is open both to potential tenants
and investors. The meeting should last no more than an hour, so there will
still be opportunity to attend Adoration before Holy Mass at 12:10pm.

across Britain to mark the anniversary of the 1967 Abortion Act. Since 1967
over 9.5 million unborn children have been killed by abortion and countless
mothers and families have been hurt. An SPUC initiative supported by St Mary’s

A reflection on the Feast of St. George for the Juventutem London youths, by Fr Armand de Malleray, FSSP. “St George, Patron of England. Why countries need patron saints: the idea of a motherland. How to distinguish patriotism and nationalism; civic loyalty and insularism. As the world becomes a global village, have national history, culture and customs become irrelevant?”

Our heartfelt
congratulations to John and Simone Sunderland who celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary
on Sat. 1st May. The special blessing reserved for 25th
and 50th wedding anniversaries was bestowed upon the couple after
Holy Mass on 1st May. The couple may allow us to mention that John,
affected with a very severe illness, was happily received into the Church
before Christmas. In our times when love commitments seem impossible to keep,
leading many to jadedness and to despair, what a splendid witness is given us
and the world through such a wedding anniversary! We assure the
fifty-year-weds, their children and grandchildren of our prayer.
Warm
Congratulations to our Sixth-Year seminarian Gwilym Evans,

Thank you for spreading the word today. Launching Regina Caeli Hybrid Academy in Warrington will help children get a better Catholic education.
By Regina Caeli Academy UK
In 2019, a few families in Bedfordshire took the initiative to bring a successful U.S. model of Classical Catholic education to the U.K. and founded Regina Caeli Academy UK, with pastoral support from the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter. In its second year, the number of families using the Academy has already doubled, with more families joining and moving to the area this year in anticipation of September 2021. Full details about Regina Caeli Academy, including an introductory video, fees, timetables and curriculum, are available at www.rcahybrid.org.uk.
Given the growing community in Warrington, and answering demand from local parents, we would very much like to start a centre at St Mary’s Warrington, with God’s help, from September 2021. The Academy offers a full Classical Curriculum, completely grounded on the magisterium of the Catholic Church, and a community of Catholic families. Trained, paid teachers provide two days per week of on-site tuition. For the other days of the week, comprehensive study plans are provided for parents to follow with their children. Parents benefit from structure, accountability and community, and their children gain Catholic friends for life.
Over the past 18 years, thousands of children have been educated with this curriculum in the U.S., so parents can be confident that it is a tried and tested system of Catholic education which results in robust qualifications, a lifelong love of learning and, most importantly, a deep-rooted faith.
If you are a parent who is interested in the Warrington RCA for your own children, please email Michael and Aileen Seymour, the Warrington coordinators of Regina Caeli Academy: TheAcademyStMarys@gmail.com giving your contact details and your children’s ages/current school years. Alternatively, if you would like to apply for the Warrington RCA, please fill out the application form at: https://www.rcahybrid.org.uk/application-form.
If you are a teacher who wants to work in such a Catholic environment, or have administrative skills that could help shape the Academy, please also contact us as above. We don’t need financial assistance to start up, but you could certainly also help us with prayer, in particular to the now Venerable Mother Elizabeth Prout, foundress of the female branch of the Passionists who used to run St Mary’s School in Warrington. Any financial support will be gratefully received by Regina Caeli Academy: please contact in advance Regina Caeli Academy UK: https://www.rcahybrid.org.uk/contact (please note that the FSSP does not presently collect donations in connection with this project).
To allow us to plan the expected opening, we need to know by 1st May 2021 how many children will start with us in September.
Please be sure to contact us long before that deadline. Lastly, please share this information far and wide now. Thank you on behalf of many children – and their parents!

Catholic Academy Warrington: please spread the word now
As Rector of St Mary’s Shrine, I am delighted that Regina Caeli UK wishes to begin here in September. I now urgently request YOU to share this news. If you don’t have children to send here soon, there are people you know, or their friends, who might if they hear about it. Your help to spread the word NOW is crucial because 1) we can’t afford a media campaign and 2) we have just one month until the 1st May deadline. Thank you for our little ones!
(Signed: Fr Armand de Malleray, FSSP)
Short presentation by Regina Caeli Academy UK:
Last day for vaccine passports:
To date, 312,619 people signed the Government petition “Do not rollout Covid-19 vaccine passports”, stating “We want the Government to commit to not rolling out any e-vaccination status/immunity passport to the British public. Such passports could be used to restrict the rights of people who have refused a Covid-19 vaccine, which would be unacceptable.” You can sign it here if you haven’t https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/569957.
Parliament debated the issue of vaccine passports in response to the petition, deciding that the next step is to issue a Call For Evidence. It is a sort of public consultation which anyone can participate in.
The full title is: Open Consultation. COVID Status Certification Review Call For Evidence It is vital that as many people as possible tell the Government why vaccine certificates are a bad idea.
The closing date is 11.45pm on 29/3/21 so you have 3 days left to do this.
To do this you need to go to the link below and submit your comments.
You don’t need to write at lengths. Just a few points will suffice. It does not matter that you are an ordinary person, you don’t need any specialist knowledge. This will impact you and your family.
As a reminder: Britons have not died noticeably more in 2020.
Based on Government figures, like every year over the past decade, population in Great Britain increased during the year 2020. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the mortality rate in England & Wales in 2020 has not skyrocketed. It simply went back to its slightly higher level of ten years ago.
From 2004 to 2006, 11 people would die for every thousand of the population.
From 2007 to 2010, 10 people would die for every thousand.
From 2011 to 2019, an average 9.5 people would die for every thousand.
In 2020, again 10 people died for every thousand.
Thus the number of deaths per thousand over the past sixteen years has varied from 11 to 10, to 9.5 to 10 again (precisely from 9.25 to 10.43 per thousand between 2019 and 2020 according to ons.gov.uk). It is not considerable. In fact, statistically, it is fairly stable. Thus, Britons have not died noticeably more in 2020. By comparison with a neighbouring country with the same number of inhabitants as the UK (67 million in either country), the rise was even smaller across the Channel, with France registering 9.8 deaths per thousand in 2020 against 9.1 in 2019 according to government figures (www.insee.fr).

Year and month of St Joseph: March is dedicated to the foster father of Our Lord Jesus, with his feast on Friday 19th. But this extends to the entire year, as the Holy Father has announced a Year of St Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, beginning this past December 8. Read the Apostolic Letter, Patris Corde. Let’s all make it a priority for 2021 to come to a deeper appreciation and devotion to St Joseph.
Welcome
to our First-Time Visitors! We are glad to share
with you the beauty and depth of the traditional Latin Mass. Feel welcome to ask us
about silence, Holy Communion on the tongue, the use of Latin, etc. Most
people here came across this form of the Mass within the past few years or
months. Like you they were perplexed at first. Now they treasure it. Find

To receive Holy Communion:
one must be a Catholic, in state of grace, one-hour fasting at least. In the EF
liturgy, Holy Communion is received kneeling (unless unable to) and always on the tongue. Thank you in
advance.
All must dress modestly in church out of reverence for God and of respect
for fellow-worshippers. Chest and limbs must be covered down to elbows and
knees at least. No sportswear. Sunday
best should be worn by all on Sundays and feasts: suit and tie for men and boys, dresses for
women and girls. Men keep their heads uncovered within church; women are
encouraged to wear a scarf, hat or mantilla. Thank you.
Switch OFF your
mobile phonebefore
you enter our church. Letting it ring inside the church gravely disturbs the
quiet of the sacred place. Thank you for your consideration.
Safeguarding: If you have concerns about children or vulnerable adults, please contact the Archdiocesan Safeguarding Department on 0151 522 1043 or e-mail safeguarding@rcaol.co.uk, or speak with Clare Fraser, St Mary’s Safeguarding Officer. Thank you for your awareness.
